PT's: Womens Health Courses
The basics: Pelvic and Pregnancy and Postpartum Courses
I did my courses through the APTA Section on Women's Health. I essentially went through all courses pertaining to health and pregnancy and postpartum. Currently I am one paper away from achieving my Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy as well as Obstetrics.
Herman and Wallace courses are incredibly well respected and an excellent choice.
I also really enjoy Sarah Duvall's courses.
Other Leaders in the Field
Diane Lee is a Canadian physiotherapist who is well known for rib cage function and mobility as well as the importance of pelvic positioning.
I would HIGHLY recommend the IPA visceral course if visceral mobilization is an area of your interest.
I am a firm believer in having a strong background in orthopedics and manual therapy. In my opinion, Institute of Clinical Excellence (ICE) courses are really amazing. Some of my favorite courses from the ICE include those concerning cervical, thoracic and lumbar mobilization.
The Birth Healing Summit put on by Lynn Schultz draws some amazing speakers and produces valuable content as well.
Always Learning…
I always have one or many courses that I am dying to attend. My next one is the Sacral Nerve Mobilization and Treatment course by Herman and Wallace . Who wants to do it together?!?
PT Podcasts that I listen to: The Pelvic Health Podcast, #PTonICE, The Cash Based Practice Podcast
